It’s been a strange year for everyone, and while we are missing our social dancing and our social tango classes, we are busy with many interesting projects. As you know we have been developing our online classes collection and that will continue, but we are also working towards some more regular live teaching for Edinburgh tango dancers. This and this is what we have come up with.
We know that it isn’t always easy to find the motivation to learn and practice at home on your own, without a milonga to go to, or for many of you, a partner to dance with! Before you know it, your confidence has gone and it feels like years since you have danced … well we are here to help!
In September we will run a two parallel 4-week online courses - Tango Revive - to help you get your tango back on track. There will be one course for solo dancers and one for couples. We will cover all basic tango technique so that experienced but maybe rusty tango dancers can get their tango polished up again, ready to dance and develop. The classes will be on Zoom so we will also have a chance to catch up with each other!
UPDATE! - Booking for these courses is now open.
Tango Classes moving forwards
We are gearing up to return to some very small group classes at Pilrig St Paul’s Church Hall, and are preparing everything to make it as safe as possible for everyone. You can see our Covid Safety Statement here.
The thing is that we don't know when this will be! So in the mean time, after our Tango Revive Courses, we will also start regular tango classes online (Zoom) so that we all get used to doing classes regularly again. Once we do start in-person classes we will overlap these with online classes so that people who prefer to keep learning from home can do this.
We are currently able to offer private classes at our Studio in Cockenzie House, East Lothian. These will be run with social distance, so we can offer them to couples or people willing to work on solo technique only. There is another blog post with our Covid Safety Statement
